Things to do

Our central location gives easy road access to much of the Pelorus and to the attractions of Marlborough.

The start of the Queen Charlotte Track at Anakiwa is a 15 minute drive from RAMONA.

Cycle and kayak hire is available at Anakiwa and at the Portage resort on the Kenepuru Sound.

The Kenepuru Road continues some 60 km past RAMONA along the shore of Mahau and Kenepuru Sounds, to the open sea at Titirangi beach, passing the unique area of Mount Stokes.

Continuing by road on State Highway 6 towards Nelson, gives access to French Pass – separating the mainland from D'Urville Island, and to the bays on the western side of the outer Pelorus.

The town of Havelock is the service centre of the Pelorus Community and of the fishing and mussel farming industries.

The famous Pelorus Mail Boat leaves from Havelock for the outer sounds 3 days each week.
